We are all neighbors here.

Todos somos vecinos aquí.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with local South Charlotte public schools to connect students and families with nutritious food. By working through school counselors and community volunteers, we help children learn, grow, and thrive with dignity.

What began as an urgent, neighbor-to-neighbor emergency response, delivering more than 800 food boxes to families’ doorsteps, has grown into a sustainable, school-driven support model. Today, we collaborate directly with school counselors to respond to real-time needs with care, respect, and confidentiality.

Families in our South Charlotte public school community continue to face challenges accessing groceries and basic essentials. In response, parents, neighbors, and volunteers show up with compassion and community care.

Fueling Families during Spring Break

Help us Reach our Goal: $10,000 for 200 Families

We are hosting a two-week flash campaign March 11th- March 25th to support South Charlotte public school students.

During the CMS Spring Break (April 3rd – April 13th), many local children lose access to school-provided meals. Our mission is to provide 200 families with a $50 gift card to cover groceries and essential supplies during this gap.

Will you join us in reaching this goal?

Your Impact:

  • $50: Provides a full gift card for one family.

  • $100: Supports two families with peace of mind.

  • $250: Covers five families, ensuring a brighter week for local children.

100% of your donation goes directly toward these gift cards. Help us reach our goal by donating or sharing this link with your network!

South CLT Community began as a grassroots emergency response to support local school families who lacked access to basic necessities. What started as a home-based effort has evolved into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no child in South Charlotte goes hungry. During a time of unprecedented uncertainty, many of our neighbors in South Charlotte didn't feel safe leaving their homes, even for the most basic necessity of food.

That initial month proved that when South Charlotte shows up for one another, the impact is staggering. But as the immediate crisis shifted, a more quiet, persistent reality came into focus. We realized that for many students in our local public schools, food insecurity wasn't just an emergency—it was a daily barrier to learning and growing.

Today, South CLT Community is evolving. We are transitioning from a rapid-response unit into a sustainable, operational food pantry with a laser-focused mission: ensuring no student in South Charlotte public schools has to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

Our Roots: Born from the necessity of safety and the urgency of hunger.

Our Growth: Empowered by the 800+ families who trusted us in our first 30 days.

Our Future: Building a permanent infrastructure to support the health and dignity of our local students.

We aren't just delivering groceries; we are building a foundation of food security so our students can focus on being students.
